Return to check the Unico high velocity coil and Bosch condense for leak: At arrival thermostat is satisfied at 68 degrees - access air handler in attic - Open both sides of the cooling modules cabinet doors - Inspected the entirety of the evaporator coil and components with UV black light- NO DYE WAS FOUND INSIDE - The primary drain pan and ez trap were checked for dye and / or oil- none found - The line set connections to the coil and entirely of line set in attic all the way down to the eve was checked- no leaks found - The condenser/ service valve/ compressor, components and connections outside were all checked with UV black light for signs of dye / oil / leak- none found - The 14 x 30 x 1 air filters in the return grill was replaced by the customer at this visit- very dirty - Called for cooling and check and monitor refrigerant pressures and temperatures for 30 minutes- stable and normal operating pressures and good air flow and temperature splits All findings were thoroughly
Here to inspect system for signs of dye. Dye testing was conducted on 04/16/26 Checked indoor Unico air handler. Results for indoor is inconclusive @ this time. No signs of dye is visible @ evaporator coil, TXV or line set when checked with UV light. And refrigerant leak sniffer. Created dark room effect to check condenser. Condenser is not showing any signs of dye @ this time. Results are inconclusive both indoor and outdoor. More time maybe required to see if signs of dye will show @ a later time. Customer system has a leak where system is not cooling as well as it should. While on site could not get compressor to engage to run. System was operating with only condenser fan motor going. Contacted manufacturer to go through system parameters and check to see if there’s any other cause of failure. Check and adjusted reversing valve and solenoid. Compressor would not engage for AC while system would run for heat. After checking and adjusting reversing valve, needed to adjust refrigerant
Dye test Refrigerant Upon arrival spoke with customer. Customer is explaining that indoor unit is running outdoor system was not. Found thermostat in the off position. Switch thermostat to call for cooling. Inspect air handler in the attic, fan is on running. Check temperature split. Temp split was high @ supply and return. Check outdoor system. System is on/running. Check pressure 90 psi / 230psi system was lock out on pressures. Pressure indicates that system was low on refrigerant. Informed customer of possibility of system having a leak. Gave customer option to identify and find a source of leak within the system. Customer gave green light to have dye added and correct refrigerant charge. Recharge system up to correct operating levels. Took temperature split @ supply and return grills. Customer is aware that return trip is needed 30-90 days to inspect for leak. Customer is aware that refrigerant that is added isn’t guaranteed to last. Customer assumes all risks of loss/leak refri
